About me

I am Shweta, a Senior User Experience designer from Toronto, leveraging a decade of software industry experience to create functional, feasible and accessible solutions for complex enterprise applications.

At my most recent work with Caseware International, a Toronto-based FinTech company, I designed key features for their Smart Engagements platform, directly contributing to the company's strategic goals of onboarding large firms and increasing their global footprint. My past experiences encompass consumer application design for brands like Rogers, Ontario Cannabis Store, and The Beer Store.

As AI and enterprise technologies advance, I believe designers are uniquely positioned to innovate and create human-centered experiences that strategically address both user and business goals.

I love connecting with people, always on the lookout for great food options in and around Toronto. Learning from diverse backgrounds deepen my empathy and I try to bring it in the designs I create. When I'm not designing software, you might find me hiking, camping or traveling to explore new places.

How I work

Go deep into the problem first.
I don't start designing until I understand why something is broken. The quality of the solution is determined by the quality of the problem definition.
Challenge assumptions constantly.
Time pressure and tech constraints make teams converge too early. My job is to keep the team honest, even when the answer is "launch scoped and iterate."
Make complexity understandable.
The goal isn't to eliminate complexity: it's to represent it simply enough that no one feels overwhelmed. I'm not simplifying the work; I'm simplifying the experience of doing the work.
Define success before designing.
If you don't know what winning looks like, you can't measure it, and if you can't measure it, you can't justify the design decision.
AI accelerates the grunt work. Strategy is still on me.
AI tools compress research synthesis and prototyping dramatically, but they don't understand compliance standards, domain logic, or edge cases. That part is mine.
